A little help with Lounge.
Start with the TV. Your phone connects to the Lounge session that's open on it.
Connect your phone
- Open Lounge on your TV and use an adult profile.
- Choose Set up with your phone. You can also find phone setup in Settings.
- Scan the QR code with your phone's camera and open the link.
- Keep Lounge open while you add sources or manage your library.
The connection lasts up to 20 minutes. To end it earlier, use Disconnect on the phone or in phone setup on the TV. Returning to TV viewing leaves the connection available. Anyone with the QR link can join that temporary session, so do not share it.
Open phone setupChoose the source you received
- Playlist URL
- A web address for an M3U playlist. Paste the full address supplied by your provider.
- M3U file
- A playlist saved on your phone. Choose the file to send it to the TV.
- Xtream account
- A server address, username and password. Enter each in its own field.
- Programme guide
- An optional XMLTV address. You may need one if your playlist does not include guide information.
Lounge supplies no channels, films or subscriptions. Use content you have permission to access. Your TV connects to the provider directly.
If the phone won't connect
- Keep Lounge open on the TV and check that both devices have internet access.
- Close an old phone setup tab. Choose Disconnect in phone setup on the TV, reopen phone setup, and scan the new code.
- Use an up-to-date phone browser. Secure pairing needs the browser's encryption features.
- If you entered a source and did not receive confirmation, refresh the source list before trying again.
A new phone connection replaces an earlier phone connection to the same session. The website cannot wake a switched-off TV.
If a source or programme won't play
Check the source on the phone setup page. Lounge checks it from your TV, where playback will happen. Confirm the address and account details with your provider if the check fails.
A successful source check does not prove every channel will play. The provider, network, stream format and TV decoder can affect playback.
Save a backup before making big changes
On the TV, open Backup & restore and create an encrypted backup with a password. In phone setup, choose Download prepared backup. Prepared transfers expire after 10 minutes.
Keep the file and password somewhere safe. A backup can contain source credentials and personal libraries. Restoring a file requires its password and confirmation on the TV.
Share a useful problem report
Choose Set up with your phone on the TV, scan the code, then download a report here or on the phone setup page. The report identifies the build and device capabilities without playlist URLs, account names, channel names or viewing history.
Connect to your TV to download its report.
During the beta, send the report through the channel where you received your build. A public support address and response-time commitment have not been announced.
Current compatibility and limits
| Area | Beta status |
|---|---|
| LG TVs | The app targets webOS 4 and newer. A verified retail device list is not yet available; browser compatibility checks do not prove support on every TV. |
| Sources | M3U addresses and files, and Xtream accounts. Lounge includes no content subscription. |
| Guide and catch-up | XMLTV and provider guide data. Catch-up requires support from your provider and does not create a recording. |
| Video and subtitles | Playback uses the TV's decoder. Available containers, audio tracks and subtitle formats depend on the TV and source; a working playlist does not guarantee every stream. |
| Unavailable features | Recording, multiview, Stalker Portal and paid activation are not included. |
Beta availability
The beta is free. There is no checkout or subscription on this website. Public LG Content Store availability, the retail supported-device list and future pricing have not been confirmed.
